Mr. Sochea Pheap is a Bunong indigenous person from Mondulkiri province. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics and rural development and master’s degree in Integrated Management of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development. 

Mr. Sochea is currently a Program Manager of Cambodia Indigenous Peoples Organization. He has been working with CIPO since August 2019. In his earlier experience, he worked for a few national and international organizations e.g. CIYA, NGO Forum, ILC/SK in respective areas of expertise such as youth movement, indigenous peoples’ issues related to land and natural resources management, interpretation and social research.

He is a co-founder and used to be a president of Cambodia Indigenous Youth Association (CIYA) for two terms (2010-2012 and 2013-2015). He has fully contributed to the establishment of indigenous alliance in Cambodia since 2011 to promote voiceless of the indigenous communities. He has been nominated to be an executive council member of Asia Indigenous Peoples Pacts. He has passion and dedication to the promotion and protection of indigenous peoples’ rights, people movement building and social equality and justice development.
