Mr. Sev Thorth Profile

Sev Thorth who belongs to Jarai Indigenous Peoples from northeast Cambodia in Ratanakiri province is a dedicated Media and Communication professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. With a strong foundation in web development, media, and communication, he brings a unique blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills to his work.

Currently serving as a Media and Communication Officer at the Cambodia Indigenous Peoples Organization, Thorth has extensive experience in project management, media production, and multilingual translation. He has also contributed as a Project Officer, Computer Teacher, and Odoo Developer Intern, demonstrating versatility across education, technology, and organizational development.

Thorth is highly skilled in communication, relationship building, and working under pressure to meet high standards. He is fluent in Khmer and English and proficient in Jarai, Tompuen, and Kreung, with experience in translation, content creation, web design (HTML, CSS, WordPress), video editing, and photography. Moreover, he also has experience in music production. Thorth has led–IPs youth to produce original music publicly on social media sung in Indigenous Peoples languages to promote IPs culture and policy advocating through music he has produced more than  10 songs related to cultural promoting and policy advocacy for IPs rights.

Passionate about empowering communities and advancing cultural understanding, Thorth has participated in various training programs and international forums, including the Stockholm Internet Forum 2023,Sweden on AI and Machine Learning, and gender-responsive public service advocacy courses. His commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth complements his dedication to delivering impactful, high-quality work in media, communication, and translation.
