Having left home for hope of protecting the forest for their generations, a group of Kui elders in Bangkeun Phal village has very strong commitment to safeguarding their last plot of forest in the area of Poeng Pae Wildlife Sanctuary, bordering Preah Vihear and Kampong Thom. As the looting of timbers by the outsiders occurs very frequently, they have based a camp at the interjection of a forest main door to stop the potential illegal timber logging. In spite of limited support from other resources, they have been staying in the forest to make sure their pieces of jungles are safe. This action is hardly found in other parts of Cambodia as high devotion is needed. Their smile remains powerful along with their vividly spectacular forest.
