Water Land Forest Indigenous Festival

Here we are — the Water, Land, Forest Indigenous Festival.
We are proud to present this special festival happening on March 28th, 2026, open to the public at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) as part of the official program of the 15th Cambodian International Film Festival (CIFF).

For those who have always heard about Indigenous Peoples — and for those who have never heard our stories before — this festival is a space for us to introduce who we truly are and celebrate our identity.

This is our first large Indigenous festival, bringing together the richness of our cultures and the deep connection we hold with water, land, and forests.

Through this festival, you will experience our unique traditions, powerful spiritual connections, and living cultures — including Indigenous art, music, traditional food, clothing and fabrics, musical instruments, games, jar wine gatherings, cultural rituals, storytelling, and village traditions. The festival will also feature film screenings of Indigenous stories from around the world, photo exhibitions, forest sound and music installations, traditional singing, Indigenous fashion showcases, and live demonstrations of weaving, painting, and traditional craftsmanship.

We invite everyone to come, learn, celebrate, and connect with the knowledge and cultures of Indigenous peoples.
This festival is co-organized by CIWA, CIYA, CIPO, CIPA, and Kui Hai Organization, in collaboration with the Cambodian International Film Festival (CIFF), Bophana Center, and Remade in Cambodia, with support from the Pulitzer Center.
